Vintage Video: 1995 No More Taxes Rallies

How awesome is this?! In 1995, taxes threatened to rise again and deficit spending was a given. But, thanks in part to 19 “No More Taxes” rallies held by the CTF across Canada, taxes didn’t increase any further. Then, 27 straight years of deficit budgets gave way to the first balanced one in 1997. So historic were the protests, they received mention in the

Where do your tax dollars go you might ask well at the forks in Winnipeg they provide stimulus this Ice was made pink by tax dollars subsidizing the CBC. So if you get laid off from your company as part of the green recession. Make no mistake this is in part a green recession at least you know the government pulled some money out of the economy so they could colour some ice pink. I can’t think of a better way to waste tax dollars, can you?

CTF takes tax cut message into the Dragons’ Den

Your CTF was recently invited by the CBC to appear as a presenter on a special edition of their hit television show – The Dragons’ Den.

Normally the “Dragons” dole out their own cash to purchase portions of companies after hearing pitches from wannabe inventors and entrepreneurs. But, for this special edition, the Dragons are hearing pitches from select groups on how best to “stimulate” the economy.  Each of the five Dragons was given $4-billion in phony stimulus cash to dole out.

After making clear that your CTF would in no way endorse stimulus if it meant running up a deficit, we took the tax cut message into the Dragons’ Den.

Other groups pitching the Dragons for “stimulus” cash included the auto sector (represented by former CAW union head Buzz Hargrove), post-secondary students, manufacturers and municipalities for infrastructure funding, and the Suzuki Foundation for “green” spending.

Watch your CTF in action pitching the Dragons on EI premium harmonization, a higher Basic Personal Exemption, and lower, flatter income taxes for Canadians.

This special edition of the Dragons’ Den will air in two-parts on Wednesday, January 21st and Friday, January 23rd during the second half of CBC’s The National News.

This major national television appearance demonstrates how your CTF is one of the only organizations opposing “spending stimulus.”  We know taxpayers can better decide how to stimulate the economy than politicians and bureaucrats.

So one branch of government Transit puts a bench here and another Works and Operations I’ll presume shows up to destroy it, and then they will say they have a revenue problem.

Well, they’re off

After weeks and even months of speculation, the federal election has officially been called for October 14th. And predictably — not unlike past elections — there was a raft of spending announcements made right up to the writ being dropped. Some of the notable announcements included $1.1-billion for a “roadmap for linguistic duality,” $350-million for Bombardier, $80-million for Ford, and a small but odd $2,000 grant for a festival in Shag Harbour, N.S., to commemorate a 1967 UFO sighting. In total, between June 2nd and September 6th the federal Conservative government made $19.2-billion worth of announcements, or $198-million every day.

This is the same Conservative government that lambasted the former Liberal government for going on a spending spree prior to the last election.

Leading up to the 2006 election your CTF tracked an eye-popping $24.5-billion worth of Liberal government announcements in the 23 days prior to the election call — over $1-billion a day!

This is precisely why the Conservative government’s budget earlier this year was welcomed by your CTF. It responsibly limited spending growth to 3.4%. Yet, that may have been blown long before this most recent spending binge. The finance department’s most recent Fiscal Monitor shows spending up a whopping 8.4 percent in the first three months of the fiscal year. Just wait until finance department gets the bills from July through September!

Many Canadians – tired of politics as usual – are increasingly turned off by vote-buying schemes. The idea that government can somehow give to people what they don’t take from them first is understood by a growing number of voters. The response to parties that act the same way is not more votes, but fewer votes as a cynical public stays at home fuelled by the understandable conclusion that all politicians are the same.

Rest assured your CTF will continue to blow the whistle on wasteful government spending regardless of what party is in power and fight for laws that responsibly limit government spending.

Conservatives to cut diesel taxes

While both the Liberals and Tories in this election are calling for higher energy costs through carbon taxes and a complex cap-and-trade scheme, the Conservatives adopted part of your CTF’s plan to chop fuel taxes by committing to a 50% cut in the federal diesel tax. This $600-million tax cut is a step in the right direction, as it will help lower energy costs on all products that are transported to store shelves from clothing to groceries.

Winnipeg Transit which stands to save $306,000 a year. She did mention in plain terms that Dion intends to raise taxes on diesel fuel but didn’t ask Transit how much that would cost them.

Conversely Dion will charge Winnipeg Transit an extra 612,000/yr.

First I’d like to thank my family, but I’m a Liberal and I don’t believe in family so how can I thank my wife when I can’t say wife because saying that means I hate homosexuals, just ask McGuinty in Ontario. I will however spend my address talking about the hidden agenda.

Now as you know My predecessor the incorruptible Jean Chretien got a lot of votes by droning on about scary conservatives and hidden agendas. Well now it’s been almost 3 years since Harper was made PM and it’s silly to base an election campaign on what he will do if he’s made PM when he has actually been PM for well years. So we will talk about our own hidden agenda, right wingers have been painting lies and we need to set the record straight!

Free Speech

First when it comes to free speech people say nothing is brewing or has been done to curtail that of late. To them I say with the massive results we’ve obtained what more is there to do? I mean not only are Canadians kowtowed into only saying things that socialists like to hear because everything we on the left disagree with is hate speech. But now we fine the crap out of people for merely quoting what others have said, so we let Ezra off scott free some say, reality is a $100,000 fine is more than you get in the way of penalties for stealing 50 cars.

Hugh Owens quotes the bible 20k

Bill Whatcott quotes homosexuals who publish a magazine soliciting for sex with,… well I better not say, 17k

Mark Steyn quotes an EUrabian Imam, well, who knows, how much macleans will have to pay.

If the right were smart they would fight for the right to quote things the protected groups on the left say.

So until we are ready to open Gulags it is doubtful that much more can be accomplished on these fronts. And don’t worry they will never even look at issues brought forth by white male Christian heterosexuals. So saying you don’t like losing a job because of affirmative action is still racism.

Diversity

Most importantly some have stated that the Liberal party has moved away from our prime directive of putting Canada’s Eurodescended majority in the minority within 50 years. Sure we had problems bringing in the 1% of the pop per year. Yet we remain drawn to our goal. To prove that we are endophobic bigots and like the newcomers more than domestic Canadians, we support racist hiring so we continue our support for affirmative action, hiring quotas and don’t forget we did get David Marshall to stop all hiring of white males at public works, Don’t fret I’ll still be keeping my job so you will not have to worry about me on the unemployment lines, unlike all those pesky white males begging for money on street corners. All good liberals know that when Europeans are in the minority the country will be greater than it has ever been in the past. It will be as great as Yugoslavia or Palestine well pick any other multi-ethnic paradise from around the world. The liberal legacy will be great maybe even as great as Timor.

Military

Lets not forget our military and out commitments towards our peace keepers. We remain committed to our goal of emaciating the military. Even though there are now tanks in Afghanistan this was not our idea! We wanted to use to use the military for social engineering. We want the military to be about the combat bra or hyping woman in combat roles but not actually send anyone into combat. Get us back in power and you will see endless rows of non military social engineering boilerplate. That will mold our soldiers into peace keepers because lets face it we on the left have no intestinal fortitude and no tanks eh. Why would the military need them? They can only be used for fighting and thats the last thing we want the military used for thats why we want Strykers.

We also remain totally committed to allowing homosexuals to to shower with hetero normatives. Not allowing men to shower with women is sexist and degrading so from now on all military men will have the right to shower with women. Not allowing homosexuals to shower with hetero normatives is sexist and degrading so from now on all military men will have the right to shower with homosexuals.

War on Christianity

Some with feint hearts have even spoke to me in private that we have given up in the war on Christianity. This is just part of the lies spread by evangelical Christians whom our allies in the left wing MSM’s hate. We have a plan that only needs a majority to keep move forward. We have been pushing on this since the good old days of the Charter where we wrote that bit about the country recognizing the supremacy of god. Not a Christian god in this country where Easter and Christmas are national Holidays, but just “God” thrown in there so any person leading say the moonies cult can say the Charter, was written about them. This is a great vehicle for all of us on the left who continually point out “It does not say a Christian God.” However if you want proof of our continuing war on Christians none of our MP’s ever send out a Christmas card they all send ones out that might be joy cards, festive cards, holiday cards and they are only sent out at Christmas time but believe you me, if any one dares to send out a Christmas card and I find out, they will be shipped to Alberta quicker than you can spell Canada Steamship lines.

War on Drugs

We in the Liberal Party Of Canada, [LPoC] remain fully committed to any one using any drug whenever they want, I mean it should go against a pilots desires to be told they can’t toke up before flying a 747 into Toronto International Airport and trying to land it on the 407. Did we legalize small amounts we bloody well did. I also plan to turn stoned away into a clean needle exchange site. Which reminds me Iggy when we go to the AAA meeting later today make sure we have those clean bottles of alcohol ok?

Taxes

Now some have said we might want to reduce our grip on the financial testicles of the country well let me say that first thing I want to do is say this is a lie, immediately on assuming office as is our right we will rescind the cuts to GST and every other cut to get taxes back up over the 50% mark, because it’s far more important you work for us than your pathetic family. We are worried taxes were getting so low that Paul Martin might think about hiring some Canadians again, plus he could move CSL back to Canada and we do not want that. We want to squeeze and squeeze until the Baron Harkonen sends in Fayed to restore order.

Property Rights

I’m not sure if this nefarious innuendo came from the Fascist Nazi’s of the CPC, unlike right wingers we can say that of anyone we mildly dislike. Or if this came from a much worse source, Mr Ignatieff the self proclaimed “Great Russian” who is worse than the damnable Ukrainians. We still support the age old tradition of seizing peoples property for no better reason than Stalin could, so we want to. We don’t want there to be any thing tying us down like due process so if we want riding mountain park we can just take it, like we did. Or we can take the lands that now make up Hecla Park, Turtle Mountain Park, Spruce Woods or Birds Hill like um we did.

Feminists

I was in the womans washroom the and overheard some core voters suggesting that we don’t support womens rights. Well we do and since for over 100 years the leader of the liberal party has been a man I’m stepping down now and we’ll stick in any female we can find, even if the party members do not like them for the next 100 years. Just kidding, ha ha that damm Iggy screwing with the teleprompter.

Plus I promise to kill 150 women or more each and every day for womens rights, because I support abortion! Through abortion we lefties have closed down orphanages and who wants all those bloody orphans around. We would abort Penny in “the Rescuers” or Jake in the Blues Brothers such is our commitment towards the right of any mother to kill her child.

Plus our colluding allies in the MSM’s will make sure that no one ever mentions the dearth of support we get from white males. Only the number of female voters is important.

Crime

Look some of you have said we are starting to go hard on crime. This like all the other lies is simply not true. In the eyes of criminals we are the number one party to vote for. And look how high Crime is, there is no danger of it hitting pre Trudeaupian numbers as long as we concentrating on handling criminals with kid gloves and if crime rates are triple what they were when Diefenbaker left office, it’s because of the great job we’ve done. The really great thing about this graph is that most crimes now go unreported, because people know theres no use reporting them. So we can’t really tell how high the line should be on the right. So don’t let anyone tell you that we’ve gone hard on criminals they are part of our core vote.

Still we have our principles which I will reiterate once again. We will go hard on legal gun owners and continue to ignore murderers and we will always make sure that the rights of the criminals far outweigh those of the victims who probably deserved it anyway.

Family Values

We remain committed to breaking up Canadian families if elected we promise to thrust children into the arms of strangers for their child hoods and we will take the 100 a month Harper is giving to parents and spend it on something far more noble. Creating more jobs for union bums, I mean more early learning providers. Because as we tell everyone in Canada that being a real parent sucks so you know only the best and brightest will be early learning providers and Einstein would never have come up with the theory of relativity if it had not been for his daycare sticking him in front of the TV all day with a bag of cheesie poofs.

Global Warming

I’d also like to reiterate that even though I was supposed to do something while minister of the environment that I am committed to ignoring that China is now the world leader in spewing CO2. Plus I will never give George Bush credit even though he did a much better job in Canada in cutting CO2 because He didn’t sign Kyoto, but we in Canada did. Signing a meaningless paper is more important than actually doing anything isn’t it? I will also refuse to look at evidence easily available at government sources. I mean I couldn’t blame Katrina on Global warming if the public knew there were twice as many hurricanes in the 50’s as the 90’s. However If elected we will still exempt Ontario re CO2 and put all the blame on Alberta because we hate them. It’s obvious from a common sense level that global warming is important to Canada because no one lives south of us.

Thank you, good night, and remember a Liberal government is a big government!

Currently, there are fourteen Canadian Human Rights Commissions, employing 1000 people, with a budget of 200 million dollars annually. Together, they function as a parallel court system, often at direct odds with laws administered through the Canadian civil and criminal courts. While the establishment of the Human Rights Commissions and Tribunals may have started out with good intentions, over time they have become so extreme that they regularly side with radical Islamists. In a crusade to stamp out offensive language, they stifle free speech. Additionally, the legal fees for respondents can be astronomical. When they win, their speech constitutes exorbitantly expensive speech, not free speech. Soft jihadists purposely use these nuisance suits as lawfare to shut people up and prevent them from voicing their opinions. The process i s the punishment. As Ezra protested: “[t]he process I was put through is a warning to journalists who would defy radical Islam.” In effect, the commissions judge both speech and thought. Worse, they preclude open political debate about the nature of radical Islam and the west’s enemy in the war on terror.

Front Page Magazine

Personally I’d rather more doctors or executioners. 1000 people out there protecting human rights and not one of them noticed affirmative action?  Amazing, well if we paid 200 doctors a million bucks a year we would be worse off right?  Oh wait we don’t pay doctors that much.

Canadian culture = ass porn

Uh oh. The conservatives are tearing up the fabric of Canadian culture again!

Tories to axe five more arts and culture programs

The Department of Canadian Heritage has decided to cut five more arts and culture programs over the next two years, even as a chorus of complaints from the arts community and opposition MPs rains down on the federal government over cuts announced last week.

Liberal Heritage critic Denis Coderre reacted furiously to the PromArt and Trade Routes cuts, calling them “totally unacceptable” and “disgusting.” … Members of the Bloc Québécois and NDP also had harsh words for the Conservatives, with Bloc MP Claude DeBellefeuille saying she “did not think it possible for a government to show so much contempt” for artists.

Let me put my conservative hat on for a second to theorize about why they might be making these cuts. (If you’re wondering what my conservative hat looks like, envision a bowler hat made out of matted hair from Margaret Thatcher’s side burns, decorated with the tail feather from the last known ivory billed woodpecker and buck shot from Dick Cheney’s gun. It wasn’t cheap, I tell ya).

So why are they taking the meat cleaver to these valued organizations that nobody has heard of until now? Maybe because nobody has heard of them. After the initial outrage, nobody will care. Here’s another thing: government programs spring up with good intentions, but they don’t go away!

Case in point: AV Trust, one of the programs on the chopping block:

For the highest priority materials at risk in the existing holdings
• establish a cost-shared program at a level of $2 million per year for ten years for non-federal stakeholders, and allocate an equivalent amount of $2 million per year for ten years to those federal agencies which are already preserving an important part of Canada’s audio-visual heritage.

The program was initiated in 1996. Ten years was 2 years ago! Is this still needed? If not, get rid of it!

What people don’t think about is that for every program that is cut, there are usually dozens that are not. All people hear about are the sob stories of the well traveled administrators of the programs that are cut. In actuality, funding for cultural programs is increasing:

For the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2009, Parliament has voted to spend more than $4 billion on cultural programs, including the CBC, the Canada Arts Council, the National Gallery of Canada and the Department of Canadian Heritage. That amount is $660 million or 19.7 per cent more than was spent in fiscal 2006, the last year when the Liberals controlled the purse strings.

Wonder how much they give Mark Steyn to write. Maybe they should dump me a million or 5 annually for my Canadian culture on this blog?

Arborg to gain $330,000 aquatic park, says Doer

The province will spend $330,000 towards a new outdoor pool and water slide park for Arborg, the Doer government said today.

The aquatic park will feature three water slides, a four-lane Olympic lap pool, a spray park and a “lazy” river to drift on a floatation device. The water centre is targeted to open next summer.

Provincial funding for the project is part of the government’s push to double recreation spending to more than $60 million over the next four years.

That’s the entire story. What’s the deal here? Does every town over 1000 people get a waterpark? Or only ones in NDP ridings? How exactly was Arborg chosen and who selected this waterpark as their recreation expense? Does Ledohowski get $330,000 from the Provincial government for his waterpark too? C’mon guys .. the government is spending $60m here. Are you going to let them spend it willy nilly, or are you going to ask a few questions?

Yeah what he said.

Now to be fair I may have missed some because, my dictionary doesn’t have my name in the definition of omniscient. So whether sask tel is a person using a crown corp or an employee at taxpayers expense I’m not sure.  Some of these give me more hits than others the Province of NB was the highest with 5 hits.  And while I usually do from Ontario it seems they are on holidays. Does National Internet Backbone from India mean their government, if it does should we be giving foreign aid to countries where they are paying people to just sitting around looking at M.A.D.?  What the hell is this world coming to will we have world vision adverts of starving children trying to raise enough money so they can see my blog? Instead of doing that when you see those depressing adverts click on my paypal to absolve your conscience.

Other countries are tough like what does Oman-exp mean? Is it a government office in Oman? Then there’s “Index” in Jordan where Chretien had the issue lying and blaming the military for the funeral.

Afrinic - - South Africa South Africa

What does that mean?  And some in the list maybe shouldn’t be there Capital health, Communitynet and MDS Metro Laboratory services seem like they should be but,…  Also several universities are there but is the university public or private it is a student/Staff member, I do not know, yet I can’t help thinking the list is too long as it is.

Dion says you need to pay 3 bucks a litre for gas as part of the Green Shaft, so more affirmative action government employees can be hired at “they the people’s” expense.  More people in government with more time to sit around surfing the net giving “we the people” service. By looking at M.A.D.

Now If I’m providing this service the taxpayers are looking for can’t we just cut out the middle men and give me the money instead?  Can’t the government of Yukon just hit the paypal?  Nice to know I provide this so called service the left is always talking about or,… am I merely a service enabler?  Do the big government types looking at my blog provide this service I keep hearing about, to the taxpayers, while simultaneously taxpayers are trapped in voice mail from hell or waiting months to hear back from the government, is that the type of service we need? Or and I’ll go on a limb here, could it actually be me by creating this little blog.

big-government.jpg

Now if you go to real blogs like SDA or Five Feet of Fury one wonders how many  tax dollars are waste away, like water in sand each day of the year.  When it could have all gone to fight for social justice by hitting my paypal above.  Any government workers reading this please file your expenses under social justice like giving my children some of the money back, you SOB’s stole for daycares.
