Hovering at about 30 per cent in the polls, the Liberals have now narrowed the gap with the Tories to about three percentage points. That’s a modest improvement over the 10-point gap that faced them last spring but still hardly an ideal springboard into an election.

Nevertheless, Liberals fear they could easily negate the fragile gains they’ve made over the summer if they wind up continually propping up the minority Tories through the fall, as they’ve done so often over the past four years. They worry that swallowing their objections to government initiatives simply to avoid an election will sap morale and reinforce the perception that the party stands for nothing.

Ignatieff thinks independant thoughts are bad.

1. ‘Have you ever had an independent thought?’ Michael Ignatieff’s Liberals are circulating their version of the “Voluntary Conservative Census Form,” a pointed and mocking questionnaire that suggests hard-right Tory ideology led to the decision to scrap the compulsory long-form census.

At the same time it paints Stephen Harper’s Conservatives as a bunch of unsophisticated autocrats, trying to appeal to their base.

So giving people the choice to fill it out is being autocratic, telling people they better fill it out or go to jail presumably is the nice thing to do.

“How many CBC shows do you watch? Do you feel bad about this? How much money do you think the government should waste on the CBC?” is one of the questions.

Yes who cares who watches the CBC I haven’t seen one of their shows since they carried the Grey Cup.

Ha Ha where else would I keep my books by Rush, Steyn, Frum and Levant? Or do only Liberals buy their books? If they do they should start a campaign to stop it. Sorry the very essence of your political outlook is in section 15.2 of the charter. Where you not only are divisive you let us know it’s your reason for existing.

Affirmative action programs (2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

So as long as someone whose black earns less than you the government can do an activity to change that! In the case of natives that means lesser sentences for committing the same crime done by whitey because they are disadvantaged because they have a tax free status and get preferential hiring…..

It’s not like they bring in people we do not need and then announce hiring stoppages because
White Males need not apply, or fine companies for hiring too many whites.

They force the racism on us by forcing a quota of 80% non whites.  Without a referendum they will just change the makeup of Canada.  So when I was born the diverse component of Canada was about 3% now it’s about 20% when my grandchildren are born it will be 40-60%.

Only a Liberal would think that fining companies for hiring too many whites is fair treatment.  However as long as our rich white elites and MSM’s tell the middle and lower class whites to shut up or we’ll call you racist all is well, no?

Then there’s the mainstream media coverage on the Khadr family, which could fill a book. The late family patriarch Ahmed Said Khadr, a lifelong close friend of Osama bin Laden, was set free from a Pakistani prison after direct intervention from former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. Khadr. Implicated in a 1995 terrorist bombing of the Egyptian Embassy in Karachi, Pakistan has a son, Omar who is the only Canadian held at Guantanamo Bay and social activist family members living in the Toronto area to the present day.

In this regards, perhaps most troubling was Mr. Rock’s instruction to Mr. Houle that the latter urge Ms. Coulter “to respect that Canadian tradition” of free speech “as she enjoys the privilege of her visit.”

Free speech is a right, not a privilege. The right to speak one’s mind did not descend from government or a university official. The world “privilege” implies a freedom that can be taken away at the pleasure of those in power or on the bench. By their nature, privileges cannot be bulwarks against the abuse of power.

For a former head of the Law Society of Upper Canada to have such a false concept of fundamental political rights is appalling. Indeed, it casts doubt on his ability to lead a university.

Canadian Arab Federation to Honour Terrorist Supporter

They have asked the Toronto hate crimes unit to investigate and are asking that Bat Yeor (an old lady and coiner of the term Eurabia) be banned from Canada. I feel enriched already. Why have a day for a country that believes in diversity? Maybe a diversity day for every other country in the world except July 4 and because good socialists hate the US for being hard working and productive unlike in Zimbabwe.  Remember everyone who disagrees is racist. According to liberal logic people from most of these countries deserve a job ahead of you heteronormative minions. So this so called Canada day remind yourself that the people from the other flags are more important than your flag.  That’s why they drive around with them on their cars or have them on their homes.

But then Liberals want to destroy pre Trudeaupian  Canada, any attempt to stop them from destroying Canada they laughingly call destroying Canada.  When I was born the census said there were about 3% visible minorities in this country.  Now the left say everyone has the right to live in my house, plus if I don’t give them the biggest bedroom I’m a racist.  But it’s not just immigration that’s changing Canada, we’ve had decades of corrupt HRC’s destroying our right to free speech.  we have the charter that no one voted for replacing the supremacy of parliament with the supremacy of unelected unaccountable judges.   Then there’s the laughable tax funded diversity entertainers that only the die hard lefties can put up with.  Or the left in Canada trying to destroy law and order in the G20 riots,  protesting in Toronto that the police were to hard on them while they took apart 4-7 police cruisers set them on fire etc.

If Canada was so bad in the days before Trudeaupia why did the left not leave like their policy of
demonization now says the right should do?  They could always gone to the USSR or Cuba and not just for holidays.

to sum up we should cut every and all Canada day celebrations and celebrate all these countries instead.  According to the left they are all more important then Canada, or the people from them are.

Not only did Rock tell Houle:

“You, Francois, as Provost, should write immediately to Coulter informing her of our domestic laws. … You should urge her to respect that Canadian tradition as she enjoys the privilege of her visit.”

But, he also approved the letter before it was sent to her.

“Quel excellent message! Merci et felicitations. I am sure she has never been dressed down so elegantly in her life!”

In true university fashion, comments found in Allan Rock’s emails also reveal an interesting take on the kind of open-mindedness and liberal thought that is so common on college campuses:

“Ann Coulter is a mean-spirited, small-minded, foul-mouthed poltroon.”

“She is ‘the loud mouth that bespeaks the vacant mind’.”

“She is an ill-informed and deeply offensive shill for a profoundly shallow and ignorant view of the world. She is a malignancy on the body politic. She is a disgrace to the broadcasting industry and a leading example of the dramatic decline in the quality of public discourse in recent times.”

Rock, who attempted to position himself as being far removed from this situation was for days spreading his vitriol (interspersed with random French words) among the highest levels of governance at the University of Ottawa.

Scary numbers from Belgium:

Almost half of deaths by euthanasia in Belgium have involved patients who have not explicitly requested their lives to be ended by a doctor, a study has suggested.

A fifth of nurses interviewed by researchers admitted that they had been involved in the euthanasia of a patient based on the “assumption” they would want to die. Nearly half of the nurses – 120 of 248 – admitted they had taken part in “terminations without request or consent”.

Euthanasia has been legal in Belgium since 2002. It accounts for two per cent of all deaths annually. The law states that patient consent must be given and that doctors must carry out the procedure. But the study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal shows that the rules are routinely flouted and shows how doctors often delegate the administering of fatal drugs to nurses.

During last Thursday’s session in the House of Commons, world-opinion-channeler Michael Ignatieff, who apparently believes that the opinions of those in the rest of the world should be one of Canadians’ primary concerns, opened Question Period with his usual internationalist name-dropping: “Mr. Speaker, six Nobel laureates are calling on this government to put the environment on the G20 agenda. The Mexican president and the UN Secretary-General called for the same thing here in Ottawa a few weeks ago.”

He was just getting started. In his very next question, this one about the cost of the summit, the great citizen-of-the-world jetted in even more international opinion: “Even France is saying that the costs of this summit are getting out of control, and France knows something about extravagance. Its foreign minister is making jokes about the lake…”

Stephen Harper addressed the cost issue, then added:

“As for extravagance in France, I would not know about that, but perhaps the Leader of the Opposition, at his home in Provence, could tell us all about it.”
