Petition questioned
As the Minister arrived at the committee to testify, the opposition parties united and jointly presented him with two boxes that said, “Save the CBC.” The opposition claimed the boxes contained a petition signed by more than 100,000 people calling on the government to maintain or increase financial support to the public broadcaster.
The presentation raised the ire of Conservative members on the committee. “It’s unfortunate the opposition is more concerned about cheap photo-ops and corny stunts,” said Tim Uppal.
Conservatives pointed out the petition didn’t actually contain signatures or the addresses of people.

And they didn’t actually sign the petition or give an address, LOL.
One wonders if M.A.D. operative:
“CBC can’t say Christmas”
made the list.
Look who wrote the article the unbiased Liberal reporter who gets married lots.

It looks like we’ll have domestic car companies to kick around for a while longer. So here’s a modest proposal for liberal Democrats: At least think about buying American.
Yes, liberal Democrats, a USA TODAY/Gallup poll in February found you to be “among the least pro-buy-American consumers” in the country.

No surprise just ask Paul Martin who or Jean Chretien the rest of the world is always more important. Support diversity! Same pile different smell.

I know why Stelmach wants to keep Blackett on the job — because Blackett is black, and thus gives the government a politically correct patina. Stelmach wants Blackett to smile — but not to think. He’s window-dressing. The one thing Blackett has worked on the past year, the one thing he stuck his neck out for, is the one thing that his own premier has sand-bagged him on.
Here are the changes that Stelmach approved. He’s actually giving the HRC a $1.7 million raise.
That’s right. In the face of their abusive conduct, their bullying and censoring, their Islamic fatwa against me for publishing a cartoon, and their atheist fatwa against Rev. Boissoin, he’s actually rewarding them with a 25% pay hike.
Alberta’s human rights legislation will balance freedom of speech with our responsibility to others.
Huh? I know about my freedom of speech. It is an ancient, inalienable right. It happens to be enshrined in Canada’s Bill of Rights and Charter of Rights. But this “responsibility to others”? That’s a legal concept now? So my freedom of speech — my right to publish a magazine, Rev. Boissoin’s right to give a sermon — is limited by some new responsibility to — I love this part — “others”?

And of course the anti Christian left have the same responsibilities towards Christians right. Or do we not count as others?

NEW YORK (April 28) – The global swine flu outbreak worsened Tuesday as hundreds of students at a New York school fell ill and federal officials said they expected to see U.S. deaths from the virus. Cuba suspended flights to and from Mexico, becoming the first country to impose a travel ban to the epicenter of the epidemic. The mayor of the capital cracked down further on public life, closing gyms and swimming pools and ordering restaurants to limit service to takeout.source
Luckily we’re safe in Canada.
HRC’s have ruled restaurant employees don’t have to wash their hands. Worried about the flu?
Plus I know about 4-5 families who recently went to Mexico at my children’s school….

The “very scarce” combination of Shankland’s Victoria Cross and his Distinguished Conduct Medal — won in 1916 for rescuing a team of Canadian stretcher bearers under enemy fire — has pushed the high-end estimate for the full set to $330,000, a price comparable to other recent VC sales in Britain.
…
The official description of his exploits describes how Shankland “rallied the remnant of his own platoon and men of other companies, disposed them to command the ground in front, and inflicted heavy casualties upon the retreating enemy. Later, he dispersed a counter-attack, thus enabling supporting troops to come up unmolested.”
The citation also notes that “his courage and splendid example inspired all ranks and coupled with his great gallantry and skill undoubtedly saved a very critical situation.”

Many in my old regiment are rightly anxious that his medals will leave the country.

Don’t eat at McDonald’s on South West Marine Drive in Vancouver.
Listen. I love McDonald’s, both for their food and for what they stand for philosophically. I thought that Super Size Me was a piece of anti-capitalist, anti-beef propaganda.
But when you’re in Vancouver, skip the McDonald’s on Marine Drive.
That’s because the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal has ruled that one of the employees there has a human right not to wash her hands when working in their kitchen.

After all there is no connection between handwashing and the insanity of our HRC’s.

We were playing Warhammer and the poor Salamanders lost all their skinks. So they turned on the nearest friendly troops and while they were doing that the Lizard general threw them a Mage to slow them down a little. you can se it in the top left corner. Made me laugh.
Beware the monster reaction roll.

Driving Taxpayers off the Cliff:
As both US and Canadian governments ramp up handouts to Big Auto, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) has launched an online petition at www.NoBailouts.ca.
In addition to the $782-million received by the big three automakers in Canada from federal and provincial governments over the past five years, GM and Chrysler will now receive an additional $4-billion in “short-term loans,” $185-million to back new car warranties and a further $700-million to support the auto parts industry. Is this how politicians think we want our taxes spent?
With the strong prospect of another $6-billion being readied to pour down the proverbial tank, it’s time for taxpayers to slam on the brakes.
Don’t let big unions and big corporations get away with this.

1. BHO wouldn’t authorize the DEVGRU/NSWC SEAL teams to the scene for 36 hours going against OSC (on scene commander) recommendation.
2. Once they arrived, BHO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent†danger
3. The first time20the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction
4. When the navy RIB came under fire as it approached with supplies, no fire was returned due to ROE restrictions. As the raggies were shooting at the RIB, they were exposed and the SEALS had them all dialed in.
5. BHO specifically denied two rescue plans developed by the Bainbridge CPN and SEAL teams
6. Bainbridge CPN and SEAL team CDR finally decide they have the OpArea and OSC authority to solely determine risk to hostage. 4 hours later, 3 dead raggies
7. BHO immediately claims credit for his “daring and decisive†behaviour. As usual with him, it’s BS.
