How the nanny state is trying to kill winnipeggers by not letting them defend themselves against the west nile virus.

455 people in Manitoba have the virus and the liberals made the use of decent bugspray illegal which could have stopped them, thanks Anita.  There are no immediate effects from deet but 3 are dead from the immediate effects of west nile the nanny state doesn’t let we the little people have a choice.

Products containing DEET at concentrations above 30% will no longer be acceptable for registration, based on a human health risk assessment that considered daily application of DEET over a prolonged period of time.

So it’s only bad over a long period of time and probably only if applied directly to your skin. Something I rarely do unless the bugs are real bad.

As you can see at the PDF the party who knows whats best for me the “socialist Liberals” while sipping champagne in Ottawa where there are not a lot of mosquitoes [I lived there] decided that deet in the amount of 30% would be good enough for the average winnipegger well now we have hundreds of preventable cases of west nile disease and we don’t have the choice to protect our families because the nanny state has decided that they would rather you die of west nile or equine encephalytis now than of cancer decades down the road. Course if deet was so bad in a 90% concentration they don’t tell you how using 30% will not kill you.

Anyway the 30% is useless when the bugs get going in the peg. It will not keep them off you for 15 seconds. Never mind the hours the nanny staters claim in the PDF document.

When I was in the army our storesman ordered the lower levels once and everyone got eaten alive because it was useless. He was told in no uncertain terms to never do it again. Which begs the question are our soldiers who might be shot at not allowed to use deet because it can cause a health problem so horrendous the nanny staters cannot even tell us what it is?

I smuggled this one from the USA it’s almost 100% deet from the USA because I’ll not let the nanny state kill my family in their big government stupidity. After all they say there are no immediate health concerns if it’s over 30%! You will not find the blue coloured ones in Kanuckistan.

Since no immediate health concerns were identified during the re-evaluation of DEET, retail sales of products that contain DEET at concentrations above 30% can continue until December 31, 2004.

Get that there are no immediate effects from deet but 3 are dead from the immediate effects of west nile. Luckily you aren’t allowed the choice to use it any way! It probably isn’t as harmful as pot but “small amounts” were ok to Chretien and help the Hells Angels finances.

Studies show that products with lower concentrations of DEET are as effective as the high concentration products, but they remain so for shorter periods of time. Products containing no more than a 30% concentration of DEET will provide adults with sufficient protection. Re-apply after these protection times have elapsed if necessary.

The numbers in this chart are how many are caught in each trap which is supposed to simulate how many times you get bit mosquitoes in a night.  Now look at the winnipeg number and imagine being bitten 2579 times in 1 night and the next night the Big government bureaucrats will not let you put on decent bug spray.

Also they talk about peak times like is winnipeg supposed to shut down when it’s 17:00hrs?

Here’s a “big government” agency each taxpayer pays 70 dollars for each year, even though I’d never watch it and they don’t have the decency to bring up the fact that the 3 dead [so far] weren’t allowed to use decent bug juice.

Maybe if Winnipeg made some of our welfare bums drain the ditches we wouldn’t have more mosquitoes than other areas.  Course they will tell me to  drain  my rain barrel while miles of ditches they are responsible for, remain stagnant.
