It makes absolute sense to name family day after the person who killed an Irishman and thought he was a prophet from god without a single miracle to show for it. We in the NDP who believe in social Justice, all know that if Riel had killed someone important instead of someone Irish, like someone of any other ethnic group, that the NDP would still be supporting Riel Day.

Why would it matter to Todays NDP if Riel killed a homosexual, a black or a Chinese person the NDP would still name a holiday after him! If he shot an Arab, that would still be acceptable to the clowns in the NDP! What is not acceptable is calling the holiday Family Day, the NDP don’t like families unless there are at least 2 adults of the same sex.

Because the NDP aren’t a bunch of endophobic bigots or,… are they? One more attempt to marginalize the eurodescended types. A holiday that is offensive to me, luckily I’m marginalized so no one cares unlike if the were black.

Hey Judy treating people different based on their ethnicity is, R_________________.  Or will you endorse holidays for people who kill blacks?

Judy’s letter to the Winnipeg Sun confirming the above in the more,

Re: ‘Family Day’ favoured, Feb. 18.

I couldn’t disagree more with Kevin Lamoureux. It makes absolute sense to name family day after the person who helped Manitoba become a full-fledged province in 1870. In fact, it is wonderful to spend this new holiday immersed in Metis culture which is such a vital part of the Manitoba mosaic. My family and I enjoyed this day enormously and want to thank all those who organized everything from jigging and fiddling to storytelling and feasting. The day was topped off with a chance to help create the longest human chain on skates on the longest skating rink in the world at the historic juncture of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.
