Warman vs The Entire Free World (Bumped)

For those on the left who think this isn’t your fight;

The Saskblogs Aggregator is toast now. I pulled it this evening. Anyone wondering why need only read Richard Warman’s Statement of Claims (PDF, 1.5M, 23pp) against Kate of SDA. In particular paragraphs 28-31.He’s suing Kate not because she posted anything libelous, but because Kathy supposedly did on SDA, and that any link to supposed libelous statements constitutes libel. His grounds are that commentators on SDA libeled him and therefore Kate is the libeling party.

I have the posts in question in my database and I republished them on Saskblogs and had search capabilities on Saskblogs.

In other words, by Warman’s definition, I libeled him as well.

The Saskblogs Aggregator hosted posts from dozens of Saskatchewan blogs, some of them personal, some of them political - and many of them representing the left.Update - Red Tory does, and his post merits more linkage.

I’m humbled by your generosity. Donations, small and large, have been pouring in since yesterday morning, at one point more quickly than I was able to send thank you notes. It continued through the day and there were many more waiting this morning. Many of you have indicated you’re mailing cheques.

This is largely in part to the support of bloggers across North America who have helped get the word out. Check out Technorati for a partial list. Contributors include Americans as well as Canadians, university students and retirees, US and Canadian military, lawyers, and other bloggers, of course - you get the picture. Some have donated to us all.

Many have indicated they’re redirecting their CPC donations to this effort, and have copied their MP’s as to why.

Thank you. Maybe that will make a few more of them sit up and take notice of what is happening to our freedoms. Remember, this lawsuit has come about as a direct result of the scrutiny bloggers have directed towards one of the CHRC’s lynch pins.

I’ll be placing the funds in a dedicated account until they are required. Should it come to pass that the action is dropped, or that a significant surplus is left over, I’ll be happy to return any donation upon request (less Paypal costs). What is left will remain a legal defense nest egg for SDA.

How much have I raised? Well, let’s just say it’s “signifiicant”. As I said yesterday, I like to keep my powder dry.

In matters such as this, I like to keep my powder dry. Besides, people much smarter than I are already out front with the ball. Not likely, from what I’ve seen at Steyn’s site. Any country that would allow their “Human Rights” commission to operate with Kafkaesque procedures that DENY the presumption of innocence isn’t all that interested in “human rights”. Any country that would permit a legal “cause of action” on such specious grounds isn’t interested in free speech –unless it’s on one-sided “liberal” terms and conditions.

So pity the poor PC-addled Canadians who are acceding their precious freedoms to vicious fascists like Warman while at the same time surrendering inch-by-inch to dhimmitude.

Pity them.
