Stacy Douglas is the NDP candidate for Scarborough-Agincourt. Her previous experience includes helping to organize the Nakba commemoration in Peterborough this past February – an event dedicated to slandering Israel and promoting anti-Israel boycotts. Specifically, Douglas touted the proposed British academic boycott of Israeli scholars (#).

The University and Colleges Union, which is pushing this boycott, commissioned Lord Lester, Britain’s foremost expert on discrimination law, to give his opinion on what they were up to. Lester promptly told them their boycott looked illegal.

The campaign against the boycott also commissioned an opinion and their lawyers told them the same thing: that the UCU’s proposed boycott could breach the Race Relations Act (pdf ).

You see in Britain, as in Canada, it’s illegal to discriminate on the basis of nationality, race or religion. Apparently, though, Douglas doesn’t get this discrimination thing.

Douglas also wants to see Canada attend the UN sponsored Durban II conference. The original Durban The follow-up conference promises to be even worse, and Canada has declared we’ll have nothing to do with it. conference turned into an antisemitic circus.
