The Charter of Rights was designed by Trudeau to make you fear the state.

Just to put this in some historical context when Clark lost the election in 1979 Trudeau had already resigned as leader and by default got the job then pushed this document no one voted for in a democracy on Canada. I doubt you will ever meet a liberal who has actually tried to read the document. They all know the charter is great but then Christians don’t even get charter right 2. Harper needs to do some constitutional damage. And Ontario is all for this remember the referendum Ottawa, Toronto and Quebec were all for it and therin lie the enemies of Canada.
Trudeau’s crime against democracy was monstrous. He took full advantage of the colonial trappings of the country for his own purposes.
First neither he nor any other of the first ministers had any mandate from the electorate to embark on constitutional reform.
Second, neither the parliament of Canada nor any provincial or territorial legislature has ever been given the right to undertake language reform.
Third, the new constitution was based on a fraud – two races and cultures English and French.
Fourth, the Constitution Act, 1982, cast in stone Trudeau’s anti-democratic Utopia. Under it, the common law and the parliament were irreparably reduced to government by the Supreme Court of Canada and the various branches of the Judiciary.
…
Not only did Canada’s new Constitution signify a shameful international legal landmark, it expressed negative values, and exposed a national neurosis. Even without it’s infamous notwithstanding clause, the charter itself read as an arid declaration. While all Canadians shared the “right to life” and “liberty,” the charter assumed no right to “the pursuit of happiness” or any other uplifting ideal but the necessity of a right of “security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.” Trudeau was telling Canadians to fear the state.

You know I got this book from my parents estate, its from 1995 so it’s definitely pre Ezra being in trouble. Or at least if he was in trouble then it was for different things. The clarion calls were there but, well thank god Dion lost.

This is all painfully obvious to someone such as myself who has lived in whatEVERpeg for most of my adult life.
I was quite surprised that my submission was rejected..
